LG Air Conditioner P8 Error Code
What it means
LG says P8 can be a model-dependent display for an over-temperature protection condition also associated with CH61/CH34.
Try this first
- If the outdoor unit is on an enclosed balcony, open the ventilation window or insect screen.
- Clear clutter or other obstacles around the outdoor unit so hot air can escape.
- If the outdoor unit sits below or far from the ventilation opening, correct its placement or use an air guide as applicable.
- If the code occurs in heating mode, clean the indoor-unit filter if it is dusty.
- Unplug the air conditioner or turn off its circuit breaker, wait 5 minutes, then restore power.
- If the code returns, request service.
Can I keep using it?Correct airflow or filter restrictions and reset the unit before returning it to normal use.
Repair usually required?Service is recommended if P8 returns after ventilation, filter, and reset checks.
