LG Dishwasher E1 Error Code

What it means

LG says an AE or E1 code means a leak inside the dishwasher has activated the float switch.

Try this first

1. Confirm the dishwasher is level. LG says water pooling toward one side of the tub indicates the unit is not level.
2. Inspect the door gasket and the sealing area for food or grease buildup and clean it away. A damaged or torn door seal requires service.
3. Inspect the spray arms for buildup or blockages and clean them with a soft brush and warm soapy water. A damaged spray arm requires service.
4. Use only dishwasher detergent. Do not use regular dishwashing liquid because excessive bubbles can cause water to overflow.
5. If using pods or tablets, do not use more than one. Excess detergent can create excessive suds.
6. For liquid or powder detergent, LG identifies the 15 line for lightly soiled loads or soft water and the 25 line for heavily soiled loads or hard water.
7. Turn off the dishwasher circuit breaker before working around water in the base pan.
8. Remove the lower kick plate and dry any water that is accessible in the base pan.
9. If the base pan is not accessible from the front, leave the kick plate off for 24 to 48 hours to improve evaporation.
10. After the water has been removed or evaporated, restore power to reset the dishwasher.
11. Run an empty cycle with nothing in the dishwasher.
12. If the AE or E1 code persists after correcting the leak source and detergent conditions, request LG repair service.
