LG Dryer DRN Code: Meaning and Drain Troubleshooting
What it means
drn indicates a drainage condition such as a full water container, a restricted drain hose, or air in the drain pump.
Try this first
- Empty the water container and reinstall it fully.
- Straighten a pressed, twisted, kinked, or blocked drain hose and keep the top of the hose no more than 1 meter above the floor.
- If residual water remains after a stopped cycle, run Air Dry for 2 to 3 minutes and then power the dryer off.
- If the condition remains after the container and hose are corrected, arrange service.
Can I keep using it?Address the drainage condition before continuing normal use. Empty and reseat the water container, correct any drain-hose restriction, and use the documented Air Dry step if residual water remains.
Repair usually required?Service is not the first documented step. LG first directs you to check the water container and drain hose and to use the Air Dry procedure when applicable.

If drn remains after the water container and drain hose are corrected and the applicable Air Dry step is completed, arrange service.
