What it means
The cooktop surface is above approximately 150 F. This is normally a hot-surface indication rather than a fault.
Try this first
- Do not touch the hot cooking surface.
- Allow the cooktop to cool naturally.
- Wait for the hot-surface indication to clear.
- If HS remains when the cooktop is completely cool, reset power for 30 seconds.

If HS remains while the cooktop is at room temperature, LG recommends service.
