Try this first
- Remove and clean the dishwasher filter.
- Check the drain hose for kinks, pinching, or blockage.
- Check the garbage disposal for blockage.
- Make sure the disposal knockout plug was removed on a new installation.
- Check and clean the air gap if one is installed.
