What it means
Maytag indicates ERR means the dryer door has not been completely closed and latched; the dryer will not run unless the door is closed.
Try this first
- Make sure the dryer door is completely closed and latched.
- Push on the door to engage the latch or latches.
- On models with upper and lower door latches, make sure both latches are secure.
- If ERR remains, perform the manufacturer's power-cycle procedure.
- Turn off the dryer circuit breaker or breakers for 5 minutes.
- Turn the circuit breaker or breakers back on.
- Start a Timed Dry cycle.
- Monitor the dryer for 5 minutes to make sure the error code does not return.
