Maytag Front Load Washer F9 E1 Error Code
What it means
Maytag indicates F9 E1 means the washer is unable to drain correctly.
Try this first
- Check the drain-hose installation.
- Make sure the drain hose does not extend more than 4.5 inches (113 mm) into the drainpipe or laundry tub.
- Use the U-shaped drain-hose form described in the Installation Instructions.
- Make sure the drain hose is no higher than 96 inches from the bottom of the washer.
- Do not seal the drain hose into the drainpipe with tape; leave an air gap to prevent siphoning.
- On models with a drain-pump filter behind the bottom dispenser drawer, clean the filter periodically.
- Inspect the small drain holes inside the door seal or bellow and clear them if clogged.
