What it means
Maytag says Sud/Sd means there are too many suds, so the washer extends rinsing and pauses tumbling while it reduces the suds.
Try this first
- Allow the washer's automatic suds-reduction routine to continue.
- Use HE detergent and follow the detergent manufacturer's dosage for the load and soil level.
- After the cycle completes, run a "Clean Wash" cycle to remove excess detergent buildup.
- If "no splash" or "easy pour" chlorine bleach caused the suds, use regular liquid bleach products instead.
Can I keep using it?Do not interrupt the automatic suds-reduction routine.
Repair usually required?No repair is normally indicated if correcting detergent/bleach use and the Clean Wash cycle resolves Sd/Sud.
