What it means
Maytag indicates FC E3 means the microwave could not connect to the wireless router. Possible causes listed by the manufacturer include connection timeout, poor signal strength, a failed router, the appliance Wi-Fi module, or associated wiring.
Try this first
- Turn off the microwave circuit breaker or breakers for 1 minute.
- Turn the circuit breaker or breakers back on.
- Monitor the microwave for 1 minute to make sure the error code does not return.
- Verify microwave operation.
- Reset the wireless router.
- Take another Wi-Fi capable device, such as a phone or tablet, to the microwave location and verify that it can operate there.
- If the other Wi-Fi device works correctly, disconnect power from the router for 2 minutes and then reconnect it.
- After reconnecting the router, disconnect power from the microwave for 2 minutes and then reconnect it.
- If the wireless signal at the microwave is weak, try moving the router to another location.
- If needed, use a compatible wireless signal extender or contact your Internet Service Provider.
