Maytag Refrigerator Door Alarm Error Code
What it means
Maytag says the Door Ajar alarm sounds when a refrigerator door or freezer drawer is left open for about 2 to 5 minutes, depending on model.
Try this first
- Close all refrigerator doors and the freezer drawer to turn off and reset the alarm.
- Check that bins, shelves, or food packages are not preventing the doors from closing.
- Make sure the refrigerator and floor are level so the door switch can make proper contact.
- If problems continue, cycle power to the refrigerator.
- To temporarily mute the audible alarm while a door is open, touch any control-panel button.
Can I keep using it?The alarm repeats until the open-door condition is corrected; muting the sound does not remove the displayed Door Ajar condition.
Repair usually required?If the alarm continues with all doors closing correctly after the listed checks, use Maytag support or service.
