Maytag Top Load Washer
Maytag Top Load Washer F0 E9 Error Code
What it means
Maytag indicates the washer detected an unbalanced load. An uneven load can cause noise, vibration, reduced spin speed, longer cycle times, and clothing that remains wet.
Try this first
- If the error is present, cancel the cycle by pressing Start or disconnecting the washer power cord.
- If water is present, run a drain-only cycle.
- Rearrange the clothing and remove items if necessary so the load is level and not overloaded.
- For a large or oversized load, consider using the Bulky or Heavy Duty cycle.
- If washing is complete and you only need to remove water, rearrange the load and run a Drain & Spin cycle.
- If the cycle can be paused, press Start to pause it, open the lid, rearrange or reduce the load, then press Start again.
- Load clothing in loose heaps evenly around the basket and do not overload it.
- Do not load clothing higher than the top row of holes in the wash basket.
- Balance heavy items with lighter items.
- Avoid washing a single absorbent item, such as one rug; use two or three garments to help balance the load.
- Use the Bulky cycle for large or oversized items when appropriate.
- Make sure the washer is level from side to side and front to back.
- Try rocking the washer diagonally from corner to corner; if it rocks, it needs to be leveled.
