Maytag Top Load Washer LF Error Code
What it means
Maytag says LF/F8 E1 is a long-fill alert: the washer is taking too long to fill.
Try this first
- Make sure both inlet hoses are connected and both hot and cold water supplies are turned on.
- Check that only about 4.5 inches (113 mm) of drain hose extends into the standpipe or tub and do not seal the drain opening with tape.
- Make sure the standpipe is at least 39 inches (99 cm) high.
- Straighten the drain hose and remove any kinks, clogs, or drain blockage.
Can I keep using it?Correct both incoming-water and drain-hose installation problems before restarting the washer.
Repair usually required?If LF remains after the water-supply and drain checks, use Maytag support or service.
