What it means
Sub-Zero identifies EC50 with Service flashing as excessive refrigerator compressor run time.
Try this first
- If temperatures are high, do not assume a door-ajar condition; contact Factory Certified Service.
- If temperatures are near normal, clean the condenser first.
- After cleaning the condenser, press and hold the door ajar alarm key, identified by the bell symbol, for 15 seconds to clear EC50.
- Only clear EC50 when temperatures are near normal.
- If temperatures do not return to normal or continue to rise, do not clear the code because it can help service identify the problem.
- For Designer ID, IC, and IT products, make sure the kickplate is not completely covered by a custom toe kick or enclosed in cabinetry.
- If EC50 or the Service message returns, or temperatures rise, contact Factory Certified Service.
