What it means
The dryer is reporting restricted airflow: the lint screen or vent may be clogged, crushed, kinked, or routed with too many turns.
Try this first
- Clean the lint screen.
- Check the vent run from the dryer to the wall for crushing or kinks.
- Make sure the vent run and the exterior exhaust hood are free of lint and debris.
- Confirm that the vent length and number of elbows are within the installation instructions for the vent type.
- Select a heated Timed Dry cycle and restart the dryer.
- If the message persists, have the entire home vent run cleaned by a venting specialist.
Can I keep using it?The dryer can continue to run with the message present, but restricted airflow can increase drying time and reduce performance.
Repair usually required?If the message persists after the dryer vent path is checked and cleaned, contact a venting specialist or appliance service as appropriate.
