What it means
Whirlpool indicates ERR appears when the dryer door has not been completely closed and latched. The dryer will not run until the door is securely closed.
Try this first
- Check whether the dryer door is fully closed and latched; it may look closed without actually engaging the latch.
- Push on the door to engage the latch or latches.
- If the model has both an upper and lower latch, make sure both latches are secure.
- Turn off the dryer circuit breaker or breakers for 1 minute.
- Turn the circuit breaker or breakers back on.
- Start a Time Dry cycle.
- Monitor the dryer for 1 minute to make sure the error code does not return.
