Whirlpool Top Load Washer F8E1 Error Code

What it means

Whirlpool indicates F8 E1 means the washer is not detecting the correct amount of incoming water.

Try this first

1. Press Power if the control is unresponsive and allow the approximately 8 to 10 minute drain routine to finish before trying other functions.
2. Make sure the Hot and Cold water valves are fully open and both inlet hoses are connected.
3. Check the inlet hoses for kinks.
4. Verify the hot hose is connected to the hot valve and the cold hose to the cold valve.
5. If an anti-flood device is installed, note that it can reduce water pressure and incoming water volume.
6. Turn off the water supply and remove the hoses to inspect the inlet screens.
7. If the inlet screens are clogged, clean them with a brush, mild soap, and water without removing the screens.
8. Run water through the removed supply hoses and replace a hose if flow is restricted.
9. Make sure the drain hose does not extend more than 4.5 inches (113 mm) into the drainpipe or laundry tub.
10. Do not seal the drain hose into the drainpipe with tape; leave an air gap.
11. Make sure the standpipe is at least 39 inches (99 cm) above the floor.
